Predators of Pennsylvania, March 16th, 2024
Echo Dell Nature Conservancy + Friend's of Springton Manor Farm present Haley Phillips, Environmental Educations Specialist with the Pennsylvania Game Commission presenting on "Predators of Pennsylvania"! Join the Pennsylvania Game Commission as they discuss the many animals that are considered predatory species. Pennsylvania is home to many carnivores and omnivores including birds of prey and mammals. From a larger bird like the Bald eagle, a large mammal like the American black bear, or even a smaller mammal like the Mink, join us to explore this wildlife and take a look at wildlife mounts and furs.

The Victorian Ice Cream Social is a free family friendly event that will have games, kids crafting tables, pony rides, delicious Lapp Valley Farm Ice Cream, and live music, all surrounded by the scenic beauty of Springton Manor Farm.
Friends of Springton Manor Farm is proud to be serving Lapp Valley Farm Homemade Ice Cream from New Holland, PA. This annual event is fun and relaxing while also helping support a local landmark.
This event is free along with free parking. Donations will gladly be accepted and donations will directly go to help support Friends of Springton Manor Farm’s mission to preserve the past and prepare for the future of Springton Manor Farm.

Please plan to enjoy the afternoon In the Manor House at Springton Manor Farm. The Friends of Springton Manor Farm will take you on a fashion tour of weddings through the last century, vintage to modern. After the show, enjoy tea with your friends in the beautiful manor house venue rarely open for public events.

On the day of the event, please park in the first parking lot on the right upon entering the park.
We have a limited number of handicap spots, for handicap parking. So, please go to the first stop sign and turn right on the drive between the carriage house office and the manor house. Look for reserved spots.

Railroads of the Upper Brandywine program, Monday, April 2, 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Remnants of long extinct railways can still be found in Northern Chester County, in fact some of our most popular recreational trails used to be railways, like the Struble Trail and Chester Valley Trail. Have you ever wondered when they were built and who used the trains? Join the Friends of Springton Manor Farm when we invite Jim Sundman, author of "Pennsylvania Main Line Rail Stations: Philadelphia" as he traces the rise and decline of our local railways. The history of these train lines provide a glimpse into the industrial and commercial development of northern Chester County. The presentation will be followed by a brief Friends of Springton Manor Farm monthly meeting, the public is welcome to attend. The program will take place at Springton Manor Farm, 860 Springton Rd., Glenmoore, PA 19343 on Monday, April 2, from 6:30-7:30 pm. Please park in the first parking lot on the right when you enter the park, join us in the carriage house, the first past the parking lot.

Build a Bluebird Box - Sorry but this event is FULL!
- Within our park system, park rangers and volunteers monitor approximately 100 bluebird boxes. Join staff in building a home for Pennsylvania’s most popular song birds. From construction to mounting and seasonal maintenance, learn everything you need to know about a bluebird box. Participants can construct bluebird boxes for use in the park or their own back yard.

Springton Ladies Tea, Sunday November 12, 2017, 1 to 3 PM
The Friends of Springton Manor Farm invite the public to our annual Women’s Tea on Sunday, November 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Our speaker this year is Elizabeth Bertheaud, Historic Site Administrator at the Ephrata Cloister in Lancaster County. Elizabeth will present a program “Clothes Make the Woman — 18th Century Style”. This lighthearted presentation demonstrates women’s clothing from the inside out. The program begins with 18th century undergarments and ends with how clothes do make the woman. Elizabeth is a wealth of information on period clothing having studied for 17 years and worked at various historic sites throughout her career.

Victorian Ice Cream Social, Sunday August 6, 2017, 1 to 3 PM
The Friends of Springton Manor Farm invite the public to our annual Victorian Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 6, from 1:00-3:00pm. To beat the heat, treat yourself to a nice cold bowl of ice cream with yummy toppings - served on the manor house porch, which overlooks the farm. You can enjoy your ice cream at tables in the shade. Kids of all ages can play with giant bubbles or make a take home crafts. We will have live music and lawn games. Visitors driving antique cars may park in a special area. Donations accepted. Last year’s donations helped provide a run-in shed for the donkeys.
